Verndale City Council: Officer Garrett Erickson sworn in

The Verndale City Council held its regular meeting on September 13. Member, Tony Stanley was absent.
New Officer Sworn In
New Officer Garrett Erickson, 20, of Menahga was sworn in. His mother works at the Verndale School and his father is a state trooper. Erickson has been a police officer for one year.

Katherine and Walter Riberio discussed bringing in a way to produce natural gas from renewable organic waste. They are looking for an endorsement from the city to install an organic material and food waste processing plant. They will need a pilot site once they receive an endorsement.
The couple is working with the University of Minnesota and will not do anything without the city’s consent. Walter believes asking for a tax break would be unfair as they would receive breaks for producing clean, renewable energy. . .
