Verndale School Board: Adding a child care center may be an option

The Verndale School Board held its regular meeting on March 1.

Activities Director/Dean of Students Greg Johnson said Joshua Johnson was selected as a Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) ExCEL Award recipient. He is one of 36 students across the state that has been selected and will be recognized during the State Basketball Tournament on Channel 45.
The MSHSL has asked schools to vote on a proposed amendment to their constitution that would add two superintendents to their board of directors.
Tentative plans for winter sports state tournaments have been set. Wrestling state tournaments will take place on Saturday, March 27 for Class A. Boys and girls basketball state tournaments will take place on March 30, 31, April 6-10. Spring sports will begin on March 29. They have not received guidance on that yet. Sub-section tournaments for basketball begin March 15. . .
