The Wadena County Commissioners held their regular meeting on July 11.

Ribbon Cutting

Commissioners traveled to the intersection of 11th Street and Greenwood Avenue. Wadena County was awarded $350,000 in Transportation Economic Development (TED) bonding funds in 2021 to reconstruct the intersection of Highway 10 and 11th Street, also known as Wadena County State Aid Highway 92.

With the construction of the new healthcare facility, the new jobs and increase in anticipated patients, a highway safety issue was identified and with the Transportation Economic Development program created and supported by the state government, the project was completed before the opening of the new healthcare facility.

Wadena and Otter Tail counties were also awarded $1,300,000 in bonding dollars from the state legislature that was to be used for the improvements of 11th Street/CSAH 92 to access the new hospital. This work was completed under the same contract as the TH 10 work. . .
