Wolves Place Second at Park Region Conference

The Wolves traveled to Benson for a quad on January 27.

Wolves 48, Benson 23

Matthew Bosl opened the night at 107 pounds with a win by forfeit to give the Wolves an early lead, though Benson answered back at 114 as Hayden Hiebert was pinned. Hunter Katterhagen regained momentum for the Wolves at 121 with a win by fall, before Benson evened things again at 127 with a pin over Benelli Johnson. Evan Flan added points at 133 with a forfeit victory, setting up another strong run for the Wolves.

Brodie Pachan delivered a key pin at 139 to push the Wolves ahead, followed by a forfeit win from Brayson Coyer at 145. JP Buntjer continued the surge at 152 with a fall, extending the Wolves’ advantage. Tate Strom (160) and Logan Thom (172) each battled through tough matches to earn decision victories, showing composure and control in the middle of the lineup.

Benson picked up points at 189 as Maverick Dreher was defeated by technical fall, and at heavyweight Heston Almendinger was pinned. The Wolves closed the dual strong in between those matches, as Tommy Miron collected a forfeit win at 215 to help seal the 48–23 team victory. With multiple pins and steady performances throughout the weights, the Wolves continued to show depth and balance in the dual win over Benson.

Wolves 59, Pillager 15

The Wolves came out firing in the lower weights, as Matthew Bosl opened the dual at 107 pounds with a win by fall. Hayden Hiebert followed at 114 with a technical fall, and Hunter Katterhagen kept the momentum rolling at 121 by securing a pin. Pillager picked up points at 127 and 133, where Benelli Johnson fell by pin and Evan Flan dropped a close decision, briefly slowing the Wolves’ surge.

From there, the Wolves took full control of the dual. Brodie Pachan ignited another run with a fall at 139, followed by back-to-back pins from JP Buntjier (145) and Brayson Coyer (152). Tate Strom added another fall at 160 to further extend the lead. Pillager earned its final points at 172, where Logan Thom was pinned, but the Wolves slammed the door shut in the upper weights.

Drew Sudbeck (189), Tommy Miron (215), and heavyweight Heston Almendinger each recorded wins by fall, closing the night with three straight pins and sealing the 59–15 victory.
