Wolves Qualify Four for State at Section 6A Individual Tournament

The Section 6A Individual Wrestling Tournament was held Friday, February 20, at Wadena-Deer Creek Public Schools, with the top two finishers in each weight class advancing to the state tournament.

The LPGE Wolves will send four wrestlers to the state tournament following strong performances across multiple weight classes.

At 107 pounds, Hayden Hiebert claimed the section championship. Hiebert opened with a win over Elias Nelson of Wadena-Deer Creek, followed with a victory over Brody Brunkow of WCA, and defeated Adam Grabow of BHVPP in the championship match to advance to state.

Hunter Katterhagen earned a title at 121 pounds. After receiving a first-round bye, Katterhagen defeated Wyatt Helmbrecht of New York Mills before winning the championship match over Isaiah Duberowski of BHVPP.

Logan Thom added another championship for the Wolves at 172 pounds, recording wins over Luitovio Faaaliga of OTC and Logan Schmall of WCA before defeating Tanner Schulke of BHVPP in the finals.

At 139 pounds, Brodie Pachan advanced to state with a second-place finish. Pachan defeated Kellan George of Osakis and Brock Martig of Border West to reach the championship match, where he fell to Jackson Peasley of Pelican Rapids.
