Wolves Fall Narrowly to

UNC, 32-29

The Wolves came up just short in a tightly contested match against the UNC Warriors, losing 32-29 in a battle that went down to the wire.

The Wolves started strong, winning the first seven matches. Matthew Bosl (107 lbs, win by pin), Hayden Hiebert (114 lbs, 12-0), Benelli Johnson (121 lbs, 6-4), Hunter Katterhagen (127 lbs, win by pin), Evan Flan (133 lbs, 7-5), and Brodie Pachan (145 lbs, 17-4) all contributed key points for the team.

UNC mounted a comeback in the middle and upper weights, taking victories in Ryker Marlow (139 lbs), JP Buntjier (152 lbs), Tate Storm (172 lbs), Logan Thom (189 lbs, 1-9), and Drew Sudbeck (215 lbs, 1-9). The Wolves were able to respond with a win from Tommy Miron (285 lbs, 13-7), but it wasn’t enough to overcome the narrow deficit. Heston Almendinger (215 lbs) fell by pin.

Wolves Dominate Wadena, 53-18

The Wolves put together a strong team performance in a 53-18 victory over the Wadena Wolverines, highlighted by several decisive wins.

The Wolves got off to a fast start with pins from Matthew Bosl (107 lbs), Hayden Hiebert (114 lbs), Benelli Johnson (121 lbs), Brodie Pachan (139 lbs), JP Buntjier (152 lbs), and Heston Almendinger (215 lbs). Hunter Katterhagen (127 lbs) and Logan Thom (172 lbs) added wins by technical fall, while Evan Flan (133 lbs) secured a close 3-1 victory. Drew Sudbeck (189 lbs) contributed an 11-3 win.
