The Wolves came up just short in a tightly contested match against the UNC Warriors, losing 32-29 in a battle that went down to the wire.
The Wolves started strong, winning the first seven matches. Matthew Bosl (107 lbs, win by pin), Hayden Hiebert (114 lbs, 12-0), Benelli Johnson (121 lbs, 6-4), Hunter Katterhagen (127 lbs, win by pin), Evan Flan (133 lbs, 7-5), and Brodie Pachan (145 lbs, 17-4) all contributed key points for the team.
UNC mounted a comeback in the middle and upper weights, taking victories in Ryker Marlow (139 lbs), JP Buntjier (152 lbs), Tate Storm (172 lbs), Logan Thom (189 lbs, 1-9), and Drew Sudbeck (215 lbs, 1-9). The Wolves were able to respond with a win from Tommy Miron (285 lbs, 13-7), but it wasn’t enough to overcome the narrow deficit. Heston Almendinger (215 lbs) fell by pin.
