by Matt Uselman The Staples-Motley-Verndale girls golf team traveled to a meet in Frazee on the 21st. The team finished in 6th place out of 8 teams. Katelyn Schotzko led the team with an 8th place finish 98. Mara Uselman shot a 102 for a 12th place finish. Meredith Hoemberg shot a 122 for 32 place and Bookly Winter shot a 124 for a 35th place finish. There was a total of 49 golfers at the meet. by Coach Charlie Steir The Wolves boys’ varsity golf team started the season hot with a 3rd place finish on April 20. Max Berscheid led the way with an 82 and took 4th place as an individual. He was followed by Breckan Kobliska 91, Anthony Lafreniere 97, Nick Biegler, and Broden Line, both shot 98, and Ben Biegler 123. The varsity team will travel to Tipsinah on Thursday. by Coach Charlie Steir The Varsity girls had a great first meet of the year. As individuals, Paxton Line placed 6th, Theresa Lafreniere took 8th, and Brianna Lux took 14th. by Matt Uselman The Staples-Motley-Verndale girls’ golf team kicked off the season on April 13th at Crosswoods Golf Course. The team finished in 5th place with a score of 409. Mara Uselman, an 8th grader from Verndale, finished in 13th place with a score of 95. Mara also carded her first-ever eagle (2 under par for the hole) on a 385-yard par 5.
