Browerville Public Schools is excited to announce the full completion of the new high school gymnasium.
This project is an achievement built on community support, careful planning, and a shared commitment to students. What began as an urgent rebuilding following the unexpected April 2023 collapse of the former gym has now become a state-of-the-art facility designed to serve Browerville for generations.
“This was a major investment in the future of our district,” said Superintendent Scott Vedbraaten. “We didn’t just replace a gym–we built a facility that strengthens our programs, elevates student experiences, and creates new opportunities for the entire community.”
In a short time since opening, the gym has already begun bringing the students and the community together in meaningful ways. The space welcomed its first large audience during the Veterans Day Program on November 11, followed soon after by the dedication of the Harvey Christensen Court on December 6. Daily physical education classes now fill the gym throughout the school day, and evenings have come alive with girls and boys basketball games and girls volleyball matches.
The facility has quickly become one of the busiest places on campus–full nearly every day– and additional school and community activities will continue to be added in the weeks ahead...
