Pine River-Backus 74, Bertha-Hewitt 33
The Bertha-Hewitt girls basketball team faced a tough team on January 26, falling to Pine River-Backus by a 74–33 final.
Jasmine Williams led the Bears offensively with 10 points, connecting on 2-of-5 shooting from the field. Kyrstin Beyatt followed with 8 points and added five rebounds, two steals, and a block, while Olivia Better contributed 6 points on an efficient 3-of-5 shooting performance. Piper Dean finished with 4 points, two assists, and seven rebounds, providing steady effort on both ends of the floor.
Additional scoring came from Josalyn Hauer and Aulani Johnson, who each scored 2 points, and Kendra Miller added 1 point. Johnson was perfect from the field, going 1-for-1, while Hauer knocked down one basket in limited opportunities.
Defensively, Dean and Beyatt each recorded two steals, with Dean adding a block. Olivia Better also chipped in a block, and Chloe Rathcke collected two steals off the bench.
