Bears Outlast Sebeka in High-Scoring Shootout

The Bertha-Hewitt Bears pushed their record to 5-0 on Friday night, defeating the Sebeka Trojans 64-42 in a wild offensive battle. Neither defense could find an answer early on, as both teams traded scores throughout the first quarter.

The difference came in conversions. While both teams moved the ball at will, the Bears consistently cashed in on their two-point attempts, creating separation on the scoreboard. By the end of the night, Bertha-Hewitt had piled up an incredible 551 rushing yards behind a dominant ground game.

Head Coach Jared Hoemberg praised his team’s resilience: “This was one of those games where we really had to persevere. Things weren’t going as we had prepared for on defense, but that’s why we’re a team. We had to stay together, be resilient, and keep battling..."
