Bears Roll Past Carlton-Wrenshall on Homecoming

The Bertha-Hewitt Bears celebrated Homecoming in style on Friday night, defeating the Carlton-Wrenshall Raptors 44-12. The victory pushed the Bears to 4-0 for the first time since the fall of 2005.
The evening began with beautiful weather, but heavy rain poured down at halftime and throughout the second half. Despite the conditions, Bertha-Hewitt dominated early, jumping out to a 30-0 lead. With the game well in hand, the Bears were able to get their JV squad valuable playing time in the second half, giving young players a chance to develop.
Head Coach Jared Hoemberg highlighted the opportunity: “It was great to get some of our younger guys on the field. They work hard in practice, and these game reps help them improve and build confidence..."
