Bears top the Trojans

This past week saw the Bertha-Hewitt Bears take on 2 conference opponents in the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines and the Sebeka Trojans.
The Bears started the week on the road taking on the WDC Wolverines. The Bears, coming off of 7 days of not having a game, started the game slow. The Bears allowed the Wolverines to build a 14 – 2 lead from the start.
Jorja Weishalla was able to get an offensive rebound and put it back for the first basket of the game before the Wolverines rattled off 14 unanswered points over 6 minutes.
Back-to-back baskets in the post by Kendal Beyatt and Carissa Winscher got the Bears offense started.
Over the final 11 minutes of the 1st half the Bears went on a 16 – 8 run to cut the WDC lead to 4 at halftime...
