The Bertha-Hewitt Bears celebrated Senior Night in style Monday, hosting the Menahga Braves in a tightly contested matchup that came down to the final minutes. Following a short dedication honoring the seniors and their contributions to the program, the Bears took the floor and delivered a hard-fought 64–58 victory.
Both teams came out strong in the opening half, trading baskets and defensive stops throughout. The Bears held a slim 37–35 lead at halftime, setting the stage for an intense second half. Menahga continued to apply pressure after the break, but Bertha-Hewitt responded with balanced scoring and key defensive plays to maintain their edge.
Senior guard Brady Rach led the way offensively, pouring in a game-high 29 points. Rach was aggressive, attacking the basket and steady from the free-throw line, helping the Bears weather several Menahga runs.
Support came from multiple contributors. Quintin Flynn-Belevance added 10 points, while Garrett Becker and Trenton Becker each chipped in 8 points. Henry Lockwood finished with 4 points, Logan Nelson and Isaac Radniecki scored 2 points apiece, and Rowan Hauer rounded out the scoring with 1 point.
The Bears were able to close the game out at the free-throw line and with strong defensive effort late, outscoring Menahga 27–23 in the second half to secure the six-point win...
