Commissioners greenlight seven new hires

At the regular Todd County Commissioner meeting on July 15, the commissioners approved seven new hires.
County Attorney John Lindemann expressed his gratitude to have a full team in the attorney’s office with the hiring of Assistant County Attorney Christopher Mathews. The attorney’s office is now fully staffed and will be able to better serve the residents of Todd County.
Jackie Och, Health and Human Services, expressed her excitement in the hiring of Accounting Specialist Hannah Elfering who comes with five years experience in this field. Elfering will be able to hit the ground running as she has knowledge of the expectations of this department.
In other business:
• Hired Doug Rakow, FT investigator with start date TBD.
• Hired Megan Sovich, administrative assistant with start date TBD.
• Hired Kyle Cossentine, PT jailer with start date TBD.
• Hired Aidan Gulbranson, PT jailer with start date TBD.
• Hired Equipment Operator David Geisenhof with start date TBD.
• Approved auditor warrants for $5,329,678.55.
• Approved Commissioner warrants for $61,996.27 after discussion. Commissioner Becker inquired about the sheriff’s department spending $7,876 on two chairs for the dispatchers. Any bills over $5,000 have to go through an approval process before being ordered. The commissioner warrants were approved with the condition that a discussion take place with department heads on the proper process of procuring purchases.
