Diving into the Future Exploring Robotics and Machine Trades

Verndale Computer Science students recently visited Central Lakes College in Staples to explore the fast-growing fields of robotics and machine trades. The trip gave students a firsthand look at the advanced technology and hands-on training that prepare today’s workforce for high-demand technical careers.

In the Robotics Lab, Instructors Nate Peterson and Robert Lange introduced students to the world of automation and intelligent systems. Their expertise and enthusiasm helped students understand how robotics is transforming industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and agriculture. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and gain insight into the skills needed to work with modern robotic systems.

The group also toured the Machine Trades program with Instructor James Tyrrell, who demonstrated the precision and craftsmanship involved in machining. Students watched how raw materials are shaped into essential components used in countless products and technologies...
