25 Years Ago

March 18, 1998

These students earned the most accelerated reading points for the month of February at Eagle Valley Elementary in a school-wide competition: first place was Jayme Godding, second place was Beth Sorenson, third place was Katie Weishair, fourth place Steven Harren and fifth place Sarah Swenson.

The Clarissa Homettes met on Monday, March 9, at the home of Helen Kuehne. The spring luncheon will be held at the Clarissa Ballroom on Tuesday, April 21. Tickets must be purchased by April 7. Changes in fair exhibits were discussed. Josie Sobotka gave a very informative lesson on the wall covering. Don Cook’s lesson was on pruning trees and shrubs.


50 Years Ago

March 15, 1973

The resignation of Roy N. Peterson was accepted by the village council as per his retirement on March 1 of this year. The resignation was accepted at the monthly meeting of the village council which was held on Monday evening, March 5, at the village hall.

Over 1000 people attended the 10th-anniversary open house for Clarissa Surge last Thursday and Friday at their new location in the old creamery building.
