The Hoe and Hope Garden Club of Clarissa held their annual plant sale last week. Getting ready for the sale were: Octivia Shimota, Irene Rach, Dot Aspengren, Mary Ann Kotval, Diane Marquardt, Sadie Hokanson, Peggy Moen and Clara Onken.

Perham and Clarissa played like the divisional champs they were a year ago, locking up in a 12-inning struggle Sunday, before the Flyers finished on top, 12-9. Flyers Joe Cuchna started on the hill and pitched well for six innings, and led off the final stanza with a line-drive homer to left to break a 9-9 deadlock. Following a double by Kurt Huhn, winning pitcher Brian Hinzmann duplicated Cuchna’s feat with another rope over the left-field fence.
