November 11, 1998

The 1998 Todd County 4-H Achievement Program was held on Friday evening, October 30, at the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle High School. More than 160 area organizations, businesses and individuals sponsored numerous awards to deserving 4-H’ers and their leaders. The Kandota Klimbers 4-H Club was honored as “Most Active Club” during the 1997-1998 4-H club year. Other clubs receiving honors were Lone Star, A-1, Hustlin’ Rustics, Golden Gophers, Wykeham Willing Workers, Burtrum Boosters, Iona Rockbusters, West Union Country Kids and Maple Leaf.

Athletes know who she is...coaches know who she is. They have seen her snapping group and individual shots of student athletes for over 12 years. Her name is Jan Beste and she is the yearbook picture lady. She works with Varsity Photo, a company based in the Twin Cities.

Sadie Hokanson of Clarissa and Helen Cheney of Eagle Bend recently attended the 56th annual Farm Income Tax Short Course in Detroit Lakes. The course stressed the latest information on preparation of farm income tax forms.

Royal Neighbor Camp 925 held their regular meeting on Tuesday evening, November 3, at the Heritage Place community room. Oracle Agnes Determan presided. Marge Sale’s November birthday was honored, and a get well message was prepared to be sent to Nora Bain.
