25 Years Ago

June 9, 1999

Sharon Schwantz, Jane Voge and Donna Schnettler were busy planting flowers on May 27 in the city of Clarissa. The flowers were donated by the Clarissa Drug Store. Mayor Jerry Schnettler picked up supplies needed, potting soil, planters and the Clarissa Lions Club paid for the supplies for the beautification project on Main Street.

Eagle Valley elementary students receiving perfect attendance awards were: Joseph LaVoie, Nathan Ahrendt, Maria Pieper, Tiffany Hess, Tara Dickinson, Joseph Harren, Tyler Dickinson, Mary LaVoie and Steven Harren.


50 Years Ago

June 13, 1974

Sue Sticha, Clarissa’s Dairy Princess, was crowned the 1974 Todd County Dairy Princess at the Todd County Dairy Days held at Browerville last Saturday. Sue is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milo Sticha and is a 1974 graduate of the Clarissa High School. She will attend the College of St. Catherine this fall. Sue has been very active in school, church, farm and 4-H club work and has participated in many extra curricular activities involving each of them.

The Clarissa High School band received a third place trophy and a check in the amount of $25 at the Sixth District legion Convention parade at Sauk Centre this weekend.
