Alexis Johnson has been awarded the Benedictine Scholarship at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. The scholarship is awarded to high school seniors on the basis of academic achievement and participation in non-classroom activities. Johnson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Johnson of Clarissa. She has been accepted to enter St. Scholastica in the fall 2000 and plans to major in biology.

The Rebels softball team advanced to Section 6 for the fourth year in a row only to come up one game short of advancing to the State Tournament. They have won the conference three years in a row and competed in four Section 6 tournaments in a row. The seniors include: Sara Johnson, Dana Dickinson, Carla Arntson, Adrianne Godding, Tina Stattelman and first year senior Jenny Anderson.

June 12, 1975
Gerald Kuhn of Wadena met with the Clarissa City Council at their regular meeting held on Monday, June 2, and accepted the position offered him as the new Clarissa Liquor Store manager, city clerk and coordinator of the city of Clarissa. Kuhn was selected for the position from seven applicants at a special meeting held by the council for the purpose of selecting a new manager on May 28.

Claire Zimmel, elementary teacher at the Clarissa School who instructs third grade, has been selected as one of the Outstanding Elementary Teachers of America for 1975. She was elected on the basis of her professional, personal and academic achievements.
