Dr. Oliver Titrud has been selected to be in a biographical directory published by Marquis Who’s Who in the World, the leading biographical reference publisher of the highest achievers and contributors from across the country and around the world. Titrud will be profiled in the 2001 edition.

The leaders of the Hi-10 League’s two divisions, Perham in the West and Clarissa in the East, split a double header on Saturday night, July 1, on the Pirates home diamond. The visiting Flyers won the opening game 8-7 and the Bucs took the second game 11-6. Both contests were seven inning battles.
50 Years Ago
July 17, 1975
The Clarissa Volunteer Fire Department was summoned at 6:30 on Monday evening to the Wally Johnson home in the city for a car fire. Mrs. Johnson had attempted to start the car when it backfired and flames started coming out of the engine. The flames were quickly extinguished by the department.

The staff of the Clarissa Independent will be on vacation next week, and the office of this newspaper will be closed on Monday, July 21 and through the entire rest of the week.
