A large crowd of farmers and supporters turned out for the Farmer’s Union picnic on Sunday, August 6 at the Clarissa City Park. Dan Remer of Browerville provided the entertainment. There were many door prizes given out which were donated by area businesses.

Quistorff’s Little Bita Everything Ranch from Sauk Centre visited the Central Todd County Care Center on Wednesday, August 2. They have an exotic animal petting zoo with over 100 different animals at their ranch. Some of the favorites included “Lacey” the ring-tailed lemur, “Chimakwa” the black bear, “Snickers” the South American Kingajous, and “Shoney” the Bennett wallaby.

August 14, 1975
Over 600 persons attended the grand opening at the new Clarissa Municipal Liquor Store last Tuesday evening. Gerald Kuhn, manager of the liquor store, termed the day a tremendous success with a packed house (standing room only) all evening.

Reverend Bob Turner took over the pastorate at the Free Methodist Church last Saturday, August 9. He replaces Reverend Paul Miller who has accepted a parish at Kabona near LaPorte. Reverend and Mrs. Miller moved to the area last week.
