Joon Chi, husband of former Clarissa High School teacher, Phyllis Tinseth, will be a referee for judo at the upcoming Olympics, the only one chosen from the U.S. pit of 23 judges. He started to referee 30 years ago in college in Korea. He has refereed judo ad tae-kwon-do around the world including the Pan American Championships, Pan American Olympic Games and World judo and tae-kwon-do championships.

Hoe and Hope Garden Club—forty-six eager travelers boarded our motor coach on Tuesday, August 22 at 5:30 a.m. Our first stop was in Clearwater at Nelson Brothers for a hearty breakfast. Back on the bus we continued along the beautiful Mississippi to Kellogg where we visited Lark Toys. We viewed the collection of antique toys, many shops and some rode the recently completed hand carved carousel.

September 18, 1975
Dr. Charles M. Pieper of Clarissa, a well known veterinarian of this region, recently attended a Nutritional Seminar conducted by Animal Nutrition, Inc. at Belleville, Illinois.

LTC John D. Abrahamson, Deputy State Director for the Selective Service System, presented certificates of appreciation to Eugene V. Lindquist, Clarissa, and Richard F. Donat, Staples, at the Todd County Draft Board meeting Thursday afternoon held at the Zion Lutheran Church in Browerville.
