Kyle Ward, a 1987 graduate of Clarissa High School, made his debut as an author writing his first book entitled, “In the Shadow of Glory”. He began working on the book as part of his masters thesis at St. Cloud State University. He had to write a thesis in order to get his masters in history. While searching through different sources, he found that no one had written about Minnesota during the Spanish-American and Philippine-American wars.

Eagle Valley volleyball hit the road Tuesday, September 19 to take on Browerville and Thursday, September 21 to face Swanville. Browerville came out fired up, not making mistakes while the Rebels could not get their offense going. The Tigers hit the ball well in games one and two winning both 15-8 and 15-12.
50 Years Ago
October 2, 1975
Over 200 people attended the tenth anniversary open house at the Coast to Coast Store last Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Larson, owners of the store, purchased the business from Mr. and Mrs. Ken Bjerke in September of 1965.

Grace Lindquist, elementary teacher on the staff at the Clarissa Public School, was honored for her 41 years of teaching at the Minnesota Extension Association Mid-Minnesota Leadership Fall Workshop at Little Falls Community High School on Thursday, September 25.
