The council meeting was held on Monday, November 20 with Rick Busch absent. Sherry Crider asked the council where they are at with the ice skating rink that was to be on the corner of Frank Street and Ann Avenue. Crider went to the Lions to try and get funding to purchase a mat for the rink, but the Lions said they need to find a place and them come to them at that time. The council debated on locations to put an ice rink.

The Tiger Cubs had a special guest at their meeting last Tuesday night. Clarissa Police Officer Melissa Brickholtz was there and explained to them how she became a police officer. She showed them the equipment she wears and explained what it is used for. They also got to check out the squad car and hear the siren.

December 4, 1975
Past Department Commander Glenn Nelson of Wheaton, chairman of Minnesota’s “Operation Heartbeat” for the American Legion, has announced the appointment of past department commander and past department president Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Lindquist of Clarissa as “Special Gifts” co-chairmen of the $500,000 fundraising drive.

The class of 1940 gathered on August 16 for their 35 year reunion. Seventeen of the 26 members came from far and near. Gladys Mathews, the fifth and sixth grade teacher, contributed to the spirit by sharing happenings from the time when seven of those present were in that grade.
