Jane Olson, a social worker with Todd County for the past nine years, was recently named Social Worker of the Year by the Minnesota Foster Care Association. Olson accepted the award on behalf of the entire Todd County Social Services Department. She said Todd County has been very supportive of the Minnesota Foster Care Association and it pays to send foster parents to the group’s state conference every year and they pay their membership dues in the association.

Lucas Uchoa, age 16, of Brazil, is a senior at Eagle Valley High School this year. He comes to our rural community from a much larger city named Avacaruba that has a population of around 200,000. He is staying with the Jerry and Linda Korfe family in Clarissa.

December 11, 1975
On Thursday morning, December 11, the Clarissa High School senior choir will travel to Alexandria and will tape a Christmas program to be shown on KCMT-TV on Tuesday afternoon, December 16, at five o’clock.

The State Board of Health will meet this Thursday, December 11, to decide whether to remand the proposed nursing home in Clarissa back to the regional level or to accept it as proposed before the state committee.
