Senator Mark Dayton, member of the agriculture committee for the state of Minnesota, took time to meet with local farmers in Clarissa on Sunday, March 4. Dayton, along with Congressman Collin Peterson, have held several of these types of meetings throughout the 7th District in the last few weeks. The focal point of the meeting was to discuss the crisis in the dairy industry because of low milk prices.

Leo Hayes and Ted Denny received an “Award of Merit” from the State Fire Marshal for “Outstanding service beyond the call of duty” at the monthly meeting of the Clarissa Volunteer Fire Department last Monday night.

Marilyn Lewis of Rock Lake, North Dakota assumed her duties as assistant pharmacist at the Clarissa Drug Store last Monday.
