25 Years Ago

May 9, 2001

The Rebels softball team put themselves in a deep hole as they gave up three first inning runs and five fourth inning runs to trail 9-0 after four innings. Jenny Nelson made some great plays as shortstop for the Rebels. Walks, followed by errors, followed by hits usually spell trouble, and it did for Eagle Valley. Michelle Holt pitched the first four innings. Holt gave up six hits and walked three.

Elise Krause, pictured with her parents Curt and Louanne, was treated to a cake and a party last Wednesday in honor of reaching 100 points in the Accelerated Reader program at the third grade level.

50 Years Ago

May 13, 1976

The annual Junior-Senior Prom and Banquet was held Saturday, May 8. This year’s theme was, “We May Never Pass This Way Again.”

Last Thursday, Clarissa defeated Swanville 8-5 in the first round of the Prairie Conference Tournament. Clarissa scored their eight runs on nine hits and four Swanville errors. Swanville scored five runs on five hits and three Clarissa errors. Mark Johnson went the distance on the mound. He struck out the Swans 13 times.
