The Eagle Truck Stop spread it wings on May 18. That was the day that the Hemming brothers from Bertha and Michelle Gettel cosed the deal on the convenience store just off Highway 71 in Clarissa. They made the purchase from All Star in Bertha who had owned and operated the business previously.

The Broncos track team went to Moorhead State University on Thursday, May 31, to compete in the Section 6A track meet. The Broncos had many individuals hoping for a state qualifying performance. Overall, the Broncos fell short in their events and no one will be going on to compete at state. Seniors Mitch Johnson and JJ Korfe have been winning their individual events all year.

June 10, 1976
They sat in awed silence, occasionally glancing around to recognize a schoolmate of long ago or a familiar face during the opening night of Clarissa’s Bicentennial at the high school auditorium last Friday evening. These alumni, former teachers, former residents and friends and relatives traveled from coast to coast from north (as for as Alaska) to south to attend the three day celebration.

Cyndi Lundstrom, a senior at the Clarissa High School, was hospitalized two nights before graduation for injuries she sustained after a fall from a horse. However, she had her own private graduation ceremony, as Dale Foote, president of the Clarissa Board of Education, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lundstrom, and several members of the graduating class, went to the hospital immediately following the graduation exercise at the school, and presented her with a large bouquet of flowers from the stage and her diploma. It was the first time St. John’s Hospital in Browerville ever had a graduation.
