The Clarissa City Council members anticipated some complaints about the ordinance regulating mailboxes within the city limits. No citizens came to the meeting so the ordinance was retained at this time.
The ordinance says that there can be no mailboxes within the city limits for the purpose of mail delivery.
According to the council, some citizens have made complaints about the cost of having a box at the post office.

The Clarissa American Legion Auxiliary Unit #213 met at the Legion Hall. Ruth McKinley presided, leading the flag pledge and preamble.
The Americanism Award for this year was awarded by the Auxiliary to Eagle Valley High School Student Tabitha Denny.

Another bus to increase the speed in which rural children can get to and from school next year will be added by the Board of Education when the new term starts in September. A new bus will increase the number of buses serving the school to five.

Rainfall during the months of May and June, the normal growing season to date, has been over eight inches, according to August N. Anderson, local weather observer.
