The Clarissa Museum has been in operation for a few years now. The idea of a museum in Clarissa was not a new one. Many people had thought about starting one from time to time. Finally, in 1997, the year of Clarissa’s Centennial celebration, the museum was born. It started out on the corner of the Unlimited Video building (simulated golf is there now). About a year later, the museum was able to move into a larger building, the former laundromat. Currently, the museum has several thousand items on display. The items range from Clarissa school memorabilia to dental equipment.

Eagle Valley students expressed their back-to-school feelings. Bonnie Oliver, second grade, “Happy. So I can learn more and be with my friends.” Andrew Parr, fourth grade, “Good. A little nervous. It’s smaller than my other school. I moved here from Eagan.” Amanda Hartman, senior, “It’s great because I can graduate and get off to college. The sooner it starts, the sooner it gets over.”

September 16, 1976
James Korblick, president of the board of directors of Health-Way Dairy Products Cooperative, announced they are arranging the financing for a $400,000 goat and cow milk and cheese processing plant to be located in Clarissa.

The girls volleyball team played their first game against Browerville here on September 7. The A team won their game by winning two out of three matches. They won the first match 18-9. The leading scorer was Cindy Anderson. They lost their second 3-18, but then came back with a win in the third match with a score of 18-11. Leading scorer was Julie Cline with 9 points.
