Battle Lake Outdoors, located on Clarissa’s Main Street, was elected to the “Buy America Hall of Fame.” In their quarterly newsletter, the Buy America Foundation said, “Battle Lake Outdoors makes a complete line of high quality, all American-made fanny packs, backpacks, and sports bags in their Clarissa factory. A number of readers have written to tell us how pleased they were with products from the American company. We’re pleased to elect Battle Lake Outdoors to the Buy America Hall of Fame.”
The Rebels volleyball team advanced to the Sub-section 22A Championship match with wins over Battle Lake on Thursday and Osakis on Saturday.

The board of education voted last Monday evening to purchase more land adjacent to the present school property for the purpose of recreational purposes.
The crews for the junior class play “The Courtship of Eddie’s Father,” have been assigned for the coming class activity and are the following: stage crew, Brian Bland, Tom Sellin, Harley Van Ruler, Larry Dickinson, Bruce Hayes, Larry Fimon, and Bruce Bergs; property, Pam Dreher; curtain, Bruce Hayes; sound, Ron Thompson: lights, Harley Van Ruler; make-up, Karen Sobotka; chairmen, Joanne Eisenbraun, Judy Larson, Sue Jasmer, and Sandi Jenkins; publicity, Alice Hedlund, Bonnie Bergs, Tom Baker and Marilyn Duda; programs, Russell Van Heel and Paul Thielen; business managers, Linda Rolfes and Debbie Determan.
