In Focus

Some days my job can get pretty hectic...

There are days where it seems like all I do is drive in circles and take pictures of the various events I need to cover. Oftentimes, events are scheduled on the same day and at the same time. As hard as I may try, I can’t clone myself and cover everything.

There is one particular Monday every month that depending on the season I have two to three meetings at the same time. Two of the meetings are recorded and I attend the third. This is how I’ve been getting by for some time now.

As I near eight years working for the paper, so much has changed. I started out struggling to find ways to attend several events scheduled at the same time, allowing time to cover them and calculating drive time in between.

Help comes in many forms, and not just from my co-workers.

After nearly eight years, now I wake up to emails and text messages from people who have sent me pictures of events. Sometimes after I realize I have several events overlapping, I will ask an event attendee to send me photos since I can’t be there in person.

I am incredibly appreciative of those who submit photos...to the teachers and school administration, community members, even my mom and a neighbor who have helped me out in a pinch.

I am thankful for your help, and we also want your event to be recognized. Without you, the happenings in the community may not always be shared in the newspaper. It’s all about community and your willingness to help out keeps our paper informative and interesting.

Feel free to reach out with story ideas and photos. My email is trinity@inhnews.com.
