Kicking Off the Season with a Win

The Bertha-Hewitt Bears kicked off their football season on Thursday, August 28, with a strong performance against Blackduck. Behind a dominant ground game and a relentless defensive effort, the Bears came away with a 44-12 victory.
Bertha-Hewitt jumped out to a 24-0 lead at halftime and never looked back, finishing the night with an impressive 405 rushing yards as a team. The offensive line set the tone upfront, consistently opening holes for the backs to run through.
Head Coach Jared Hoemberg praised the work in the trenches: “Our offensive line deserves a lot of credit. Blackduck had the size advantage on us, but our line opened up holes all night long, and that allowed our backs to rush for over 400 yards. That was a big difference in the game.”
