Man caught after fleeing Todd County Deputy, found sleeping in attic
Running from law enforcement can be exhausting! Around 10 p.m. on May 19, a Todd County deputy observed a male party that was wanted for felony Department of Corrections and Stearns County warrants. When that deputy made contact with the male, identified as David Allen Johnson, Johnson fled on foot.
The deputy pursued Johnson on foot to the area of his residence nearby.
Local law enforcement agencies responded and assisted in setting up a perimeter in the area. Law enforcement received information that Johnson was hiding in his residence. Law enforcement searched Johnsonās residence.
During the search of the residence, law enforcement could hear an individual snoring in the upstairs attic area of the residence. Johnson was located sleeping in the attic of the residence. Johnson was taken into custody and transported to the Todd County Detention Center.
With the teamwork and efforts by the local agencies, law enforcement was able to safely apprehend a wanted and dangerous subject. The Todd County Sheriffās Office was assisted by the Long Prairie Police Department, Morrison County Sheriffās Office, Stearns County Sheriffās Office K9 Unit, and the Minnesota State Patrol.
