25 Years Ago

June 19, 1997

The Browerville City Council met on Tuesday, June 7 instead of their regular Thursday meeting to accommodate city administrator, Severin Blenkush, attending the League of Minnesota Cities annual meeting later in the week. On the agenda was the report by Brian DeWolf from the Engineering firm of Bolton and Menk on the infrastructure improvements required by Dan’s Prize Inc. for business expansion in Browerville. DeWolf said that upgrading the sewer and water systems would cost the city $1,331,250.

Browerville Days 1997 will be held June 27 through 29, with a full schedule of exciting events for the entire family. You won’t want to miss the Annual Heritage Concert and Magic Show on Friday night featuring Karl Achilles, magician and escape artist. The show begins at 8 p.m. at the festival tent and there is no admission charge.


75 Years Ago

June 19, 1947

Donald Lemm, Jack Doble, and Wallace Doble of this village attended the Scout Jamboree for the Park Region District held at Camp Ripley June 6-8. The three Browerville boys won a plaque for having the cleanest campsite for the duration of the jamboree.

Approximately 700 Farm Bureau folks attended the County Farm Bureau picnic at Horseshoe Lake on June 15. Twenty dollars in prizes were awarded to the various winners in races.
