Leah Michael, Annie Peterson, Sarah Buyck, Tina Lucas, along with alternates Jessie Frisch and Gina Oven, took part in the State Track Meet at the National Sports Center in Blaine on Friday and Saturday, June 9 and 10. The girls placed sixth in the 1600 meter relay.

Amateur athletes often dream of someday making the U.S. Olympic Team, but few of them ever make it. A Browerville student, Scott Bentz, is a different story. Scott will leave June 30 for Connecticut as a member of the U.S. Special Olympics āTeam Minnesota.ā He is one of 71 athletes chosen from all parts of the state. Browerville is honored to have one of its own make this prestigious team.

The 1995 Browerville Days celebration will be held June 23-25. New this year is the Car and Motorcycle Show to be held on Saturday. Come and look over the antique, stock, custom and full dress cars and motorcycles that will be on display.

Popular novelist LaVyrle Spencer will be back to greet friends, neighbors and fans and autograph books on Saturday afternoon during the city festival. A ceremony honoring Spencer and her contributions will be held at the Browerville Blade office, which is located in the former Spencer family home.
