Are you ever amazed at the set and the sound effects and the lighting effects when you attend a play? Then you should attend the play put on by the Drama Department of the Browerville High School entitled “A Fine Monster You Are!” Heading the production of the play is a student director who must be an intelligent GOPHER! Student director for this play is Chelsey Konetzko who fits the bill to a “T” and her assistant is Becky Ridder. Stage manager is Mitch Johnson.

“We’re like a committee,” said Mike Iten, owner of Iten Funeral Home. He’s referring to Jay Nolan, Jeff Becker, himself and 10-15 men of Christ the King parish who get together for the purpose of organizing the Men’s Ham Dinner. The “committee” contacts some of the 400 men in the parish to help out with phoning, advertising, ordering food, etc.

Mr. Iverson, band director of the Browerville High School, announced that the final group of beginners for the year will be started within the next few days. After this date, no new beginners will be started until next fall. The school is limited as to the number of instruments which it possesses to supply beginning bandsmen. However, if any pupils are interested, Mr. Iverson can supply them with the names of several music companies who have standing offers to beginners to rent them a new coronet, trombone or clarinet for only $5 for a period of six weeks.

Sylvester Zech, foreman at the manufacturing plant of the Kraft Foods Co. of the Wisconsin Plant in Melrose, received the J.L. Kraft Jade Ring Award on March 20, in recognition of outstanding service with the company. Presentation of the ring was made by Gordon Radke, plant manager. Zech, is a native and former resident of Browerville.
