25 Years Ago

July 25, 1996

A fundraiser to purchase a “jaws of life” has been ongoing since February. Donations have been received from businesses and individuals plus the raffle during Browerville Days. To date, the fire department has collected $13,154 of the $20,100 needed. The fire department greatly appreciates the donations received and a big thank you to those who have contributed.


The bank celebrated its 10 year anniversary. President Steve Graft of the First State Bank Clarissa-Rush City was congratulated by Spencer Hayes during the customer appreciation picnic on Tuesday.


Happy birthday this week to Winona Moore, 75; Sharon Zigan, James Wieshalla, Tom Senske, Ray Wodarz, Rose Sablovitch, Kathy Tyrrell, Carol Winkler, Rick Zigan, Roxanne Japp, Marlene Jeziorski, Gen Buhl, Belinda Bartels, Lorna Boone, Deana Statema, Jason Foote, Jane Irsfeld and Ron Twardowski.


Gary Bentz was the lucky winner of the chainsaw sculpture during the Browerville Days celebration.
