In Section 5A, the #6 seed the Verndale Pirates were defeated by the #3 seed the Nevis Tigers 43-53.

In a well-fought battle, the Pirates were within one with just over five minutes remaining but costly turnovers helped the Tigers go on a 12-2 run.

The Verndale defense forced 24 Tigers turnovers, with four players grabbing multiple steals. . .
