Pirates Fall to Mille Lacs 20-6

The Verndale Pirates faced Mille Lacs on Friday night, falling 20–6 in a tough matchup on the road.

In the first quarter, Mille Lacs got on the board with a 14-yard touchdown run by Phillip Bober. The point-after attempt failed, giving Mille Lacs a 6–0 lead. In the second quarter, Bober scored again on a 2-yard run, followed by a successful two-point conversion pass from Wes Harrington to Erick Harrington, extending their lead to 14–0 at halftime.

Mille Lacs added another score in the third quarter when Gabe Honek caught a 21-yard touchdown pass from Wes Harrington. The PAT failed, but Mille Lacs pushed the lead to 20–0. Verndale answered in the fourth quarter with a touchdown run by Lincoln Finck, but the PAT attempt was unsuccessful, leaving the final score at 20–6 in favor of Mille Lacs...
