Pirates upset the top-ranked Wolves

The Verndale Girls Basketball Team pulled off a 61-55 subsection upset over the top ranked Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Wolves.

In the first half, the Wolves outrebounded the Pirates, but Verndale, led by Katie Blaha, was able to crash the boards.

The Pirates edged the Wolves in the rebounding battle 53-49.

Blaha finished with a career high 18 rebounds. Blaha also scored 14 points.

Reagen Ludovissie scored 18 points and had 11 rebounds, while Avery Amerud and Olivia Stanley both chipped in 10 points....
