Police Chief Tony Pangal is urging drivers to be extra alert this time of year. “School is open again, and its an exiting time for children, especially youngsters attending school for the first time. Unfortunately, it also means that young, inexperienced pedestrians and bicyclists are in the traffic mix, where they are more likely to be struck by cars,” said Chief Pangal.

50 Years Ago
September 4, 1975
An active community citizen who served a business in Eagle Bend for forty-four years—a record for the longest service for an individual businessman in Eagle Bend—will be honored on Sunday afternoon, September 7, in this city’s village park. “Gov” Everett Nelson, his identification is synonymous with International Harvester of New Holland Machinery and Parts; and his wife Doris will be honored between the ours of 2-4 p.m.

Homecoming this year will find the Eagle Bend Eagles pitted against the Clarissa Buccaneers on September 12, 1975 at 7:30 p.m. The 1974 Queen Barb Willie will have a fine selection of candidates to choose from for the queen of 1975: Lori Hinzmann, Shelia Lennes and Janet Moller.
