There are plenty of organizations and clubs around that provide services and social opportunities to veterans, each with its unique history and membership requirements. But what about a single organization that caters to all vets and current service personnel alike, as well as their spouses, regardless of age, rank or years of service? That’s the question Ken Olson (formerly of Eagle Bend), Clark Salstrom and other Isle vets have been asking. Five months after the idea of a broader-based military service organization first began to germinate, the group already has over 100 members, and they have dreams of building a space, possibly in conjunction with the local VFW. Olson served in the military for 22 years.

The Rebels football team remained unbeaten as they traveled to Pillager last Friday night. The weather, rainy and cold, didn’t stop the Rebels offense from moving the ball on the ground or through the air. The Rebels offense totaled over 500 yards offensively in just over 2 1/2 quarters of play to score 43 points. The defense gave up almost 200 yards and a late third quarter touchdown.

October 3, 1975
Engebretson Motors announced that the new 1976 Chevrolet will be on display at their showroom today, Thursday, October 2.

The Eagle Bend Chapter FFA soils judging team placed first in the district contest held in Long Prairie last week. The team included Greta Mittag, Myron Oftedahl, Tom Guse and Ralph Kern.
