Two Arrested in Drug Bust during Routine Traffic Stop

On September 4, at 6:15 p.m., a Todd County deputy was patrolling near the city of Hewitt when they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the stop, the deputy observed signs of potential criminal activity and decided to investigate further. Todd County K9 Ranger and his handler were called to assist at the scene. K9 Ranger alerted the deputy to the presence of narcotics.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies found nearly five ounces of suspected methamphetamine and an amount of suspected fentanyl. Both the driver and passenger were placed under arrest...
