News from Eagle Bend's Past 25 Years Ago January 31, 2001 The women of Faith Lutheran Church and Immanuel Lutheran Church of Eagle Bend made a joint effort to make mission quilts. The material was purchased with money donated from the Lutheran Brotherhood. The quilts are sent to foreign missions, fire victims and home missions. Astera Health celebrated the first birth of 2026 on January 2 at 5:22 p.m. Beth and Jesse Mitchell welcomed Quinn Beth in the obstetrics department. Bears Battle Hard in Back-to-Back Narrow Losses
Bertha-Hewitt 51, Upsala 52 Bertha-Hewitt came up just short on the road, falling to Upsala 52–51 in a tightly contested girls basketball game on January 20. Tigers Fight Hard, but Fall Short against Wolves and Streaks

The Tigers came out ready to lay, broke the press, and converted at the line to take a 31-30 halftime lead.
