To the Editor:
I can’t believe it is June already! This year (2026) is half over, time really flies as we all get older each day.
In June, we celebrate Father’s Day. My father passed away in 2001 of cancer and has been in Heaven enjoying our Lord and Savior for many years.
I thought we could also look at some men in the Bible.
Adam (Genesis 2:7) “God created Adam, the first man and gave him Eve.” (Genesis 2:21-23) He is the Father of all humanity.
Abraham was the Father of a multitude. He lived 175 years. Abraham was known as the Father of faith in God, because of his faithfulness to God’s call. The New Testament regards him as being the ancestor of Israel and he was in the line of Christ.
Moses, after meeting God at the burning bush on Mount Sinai, returned to Egypt in order to lead the great exodus of Israel back to the Promised Land. He was a Prophet of God. (Deuteronomy 18:18).
David (Samuel 16:13) was the second and the greatest King of Israel. He ruled Judah for over 400 years. David’s fondness for music is recorded in many places in the Bible. God promised David’s seed a kingdom without end, a promise that would be fulfilled by Jesus as David’s seed.
Nicodemus, was a man of the Pharisees and a ruler of the Jews. Nicodemus is mentioned three times in the New Testament all in the Gospel of John. At the crucifixion, both Nicodemus and Joseph buried the body of Jesus. (John 19:38-39).
Titus was one of Paul’s most trusted co-workers. He accompanied Paul on one of the early journeys to Jerusalem.
There are lots of men to study in the Bible, but the greatest is Jesus, our Lord and Savior. He is coming again for his children. Are you one of God’s children? Be sure to accept Jesus as your Savior (John 3:16).
