We gather each year on Memorial Day to mark the memory and salute the sacrifice of those who have given their most personal possession—life itself—that we might remain free.

The program will be held in the 2000 auditorium at the Bertha-Hewitt School.


CLARISSA  – 9 a.m.


Clarissa Legion Post 213

Ceremonies conducted by Legion Commander Butch Booker and 

Auxiliary President Barbara Petersen

8 a.m. — Coffee and donuts will be served to Veterans and their families, as well as Legion and Auxiliary members and their families at the Legion Hall.


9 a.m. Naval service at the Footpath Bridge.


9:15 a.m. Program at Lions shelter with school band, choir and student speakers.  Guest speaker from Eagles Healing Nest, Sauk Centre.


After the program, we will proceed to the Catholic Cemetery for a remembrance observance at the gravesite of Jim Anderson. At this time a veteran who passed away in the past year will be remembered: Leroy H. Uhlenkamp. 


Conclusion Memorial Day observance at the CTCCC with a short program.

At the GAR Cemetery

Flags flying half staff in honor of Jerome Kneisl who served in US Marines from October 1958 to November 1962; Edwin Mann who served in US Army for three years in Alaska.

Firing Squad and Taps

Lunch to follow at the Vet’s Club.


In case of inclement weather, the program will be held at the Veterans Club.
