Driver Crashes through Emergency Entrance at Hospital

On February 26, at around 8:25 p.m., officers from the Staples Police Department were dispatched to Lakewood Health System, County Road 83, in the city of Staples, for a report of a vehicle that had driven through the emergency room entry doors. It was also reported that the driver had sustained injuries as a result of the accident.
Upon arrival, officers found that the driver was already receiving medical treatment from hospital staff. No additional injuries were reported.
Due to the structural damage to the entryway, the Staples Fire Department was paged to assist. The building was determined to be unstable and unsafe in the immediate area of the crash and fire...
