Four members of the Minnesota Senate’s Agriculture and Rural Development committee toured the Twin Eagle Dairy, located north of Clarissa, last Tuesday. Senators Steve Dillie, Dassell; Arlene Lesweski, Marshall; Michelle Fischbach, Paynesville; Dallas Sams, Staples, chairman of the committee; and three senate aides made the trip. Their goal was to obtain first-hand information on innovations in agriculture. They wanted to learn how the Minnesota Legislature can be more receptive to assisting with agriculture.

The TCCA-sponsored 1997 Holiday Party was held at the Clarissa Ballroom on September 27. Free bus rides to the party were provided by the Earl LeMieur Bus Company of Little Falls. Two Clarissa Boy Scouts from Troop 37, Brian Yates and Lance Dehn, helped serve and were very much appreciated. Music by Kim Wolf was enjoyed by all. Door prizes were provided by eight of the senior centers in Todd County. Dort Gere was the MC of the party.

September 28, 1972
Janna Perna and Billy Swanson, Clarissa’s newly selected homecoming queen and king, were crowned at a special ceremony at the high school auditorium last Thursday. Janna is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Perna and Billy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Swanson.

The “B” cheerleading squad for 1972-73 was announced last week by Karen Tinseth, the cheerleader advisor. The newly formed squad consists of sophomores Kim Watts, Charlotte Wagner, Sharon DeBliek, freshmen Karen Woge and Lori Anderson, and eighth-grader Kris Larson.
